| x | NEWS With several book series, as well as standalone books available, I have a good selection of different genres for the market. With the finish of The Janitor, the Next Generation, I am pausing to see if there is interest in furthering the series. Robin's Heritage is finished under Paranormal Romance, a stand alone, at this time, but can be adjusted to a series, if necessary. Most recently, I completed the final(?) third book for the series Angela's Torment, an archaeological thriller, with greed, intrigue, jungles, fire fights and murder. People with strong men and women. As do many authors, I write for myself, but, as we all know, writing for just fun leads to poverty. Click the books and more button, above to see a synopsis or sample chapters of each I like writing various genres, and even extending out to mix them. I feel this creates a less formula oriented work, and gives me a chance to put one or more important tales inside the principal story. Most of the works of those authors I have enjoyed are stories wrapped inside others, and I guess that stuck, as I started bringing these to the keyboard, some years ago! Some say that this becomes a bit confusing, and I confess, my first three books were so bad, I had to throw them away! Too many included stories in one. But, they were great trainers for me, mulled over at length in two book clubs I belonged to at the time. I am crossing over from the non-fiction world, where I am an accepted author for how-to's in selection, hiring and training salespeople. I've done this for years, publishing in the respective trade magazines. But, though the non-fiction world does not easily transfer to the fiction, I like to think I have learned from my mistakes. Please check out the books and more button above, and send me feedback! ;)
| I have been, by the way, almost as wild and crazy as my daughter, over the years, but her blog is way more interesting than mine. You can see hers at this link... Karina Cooper. Now, moving through 2011, Karina has her next three book contract, and congratulations to her for all those wonderful books headed for the bookshelves! VIEWS Well, here is a well established but not often well thought out idea. Every writer gets to figure this out on their own, even with all the warnings: Writing Novels is Work! A friend of mine, a well published non-fiction author, and a great source of critique and ideas, prefers everything in outline form, before he starts. Mine are written in a different style, yet, not so different that I haven't seen it before. The idea chews on me for week or a month (or three) until I simply cannot ignore it any longer. I bang out the story, front to back to lock down stages. From that, I develop an outline out of the chapters, which reveals the holes. Then, more leisurely, I can fill in the blanks and flesh out the book. Weird, or what? Of course, seeing them published would validate the theory, right? And a further note. I have had plenty of invitations to publish my own work. And two offers to publish from small publishers with apparently shallow pockets. I am not certain how a small company like that can back a book. So, sorry, I am a traditionalist in this, and seek agents or publishers who agree. I do not mind appearances, or book signings and such, but like every successful venture I develop, it must pay for itself as it goes.. Hopefully, from there, with your work and mine, we can make something very notable through my stories...

What Makes Me Tick... My all time Fav Writer and Fav Book: Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged -The triumph of ability over government intrusion and socialism Horror: Stephen King - Fav Book: The Stand Dean Koontz not as gory as King, more supernatural John Saul... a mix of the two above... Thrillers Tom Clancy - Fav Patriot Games and The Hunt for Red October- Jack Ryan novels. Excellent examples of longevity for multiple, related books through a character. Clive Cussler - Another example of ongoing NUMA adventures, multigenerational - Adm. Sandecker, Dirk Pitt, and his children Westerns Louis L'Amour - The Storyteller. Good reads, despite that they seem to begin to run together after the first twenty books Motivation: Started writing in 1985 for myself in response to a reaction to certain published books, where I was convinced I could do better. I was traveling about fifty percent, nationally and into Canada, with a lot of down time in airports and on airplanes and limos. I write across the board, whatever has caught my attention for a story: Suspense, Paranormal Romance, Horror, Adventure.... and often a blend of all of them. As, it appears, do most writers. Status change - A two year throat cancer survivor, my seminar days are seemingly over. I can talk, meet and greet, handle signing, and such, but the days of my filling an auditorium with my voice are apparently done. This, of course, has cut about fifty percent of our company's total revenues. And in this tight market, that is significant. I am still writing, so why not put a few on the market and make them available for sale? Requirements: As discussed herein, a traditional agent/author/publisher relationship. An advance, I am happy to provide whatever revisions and editing fixes as needed and no money up front or out of pocket from me, the author. I will not self publish, though with the proper advance, I would not mind a book doctor's input. Contact me- G. Weldon Tucker
